To create a digital presence for your business, you need to do two things: Build a website and create social media profiles. These days people are constantly on the lookout for information and with more data available than ever before, decisions contingent on large information have never been more common.

 

The purpose of creating a digital space for your business is to give out information. People want to know who you are, what you do, how you do it, and how much it’ll cost them. The more you tell them, the more they learn about you, and the higher will be your chances of being remembered. Create a brand, tell a story, or weave an experience. Keeping your site and social media interesting draws people and makes them feel like they know you as a person, not a corporate robot.

 

Build a website

 

A website is only a website if you’ve paid someone to build and maintain one for you. A good website attracts organic traffic through search engine optimization (SEO). Look up a couple of tutorials on YouTube and you’re good to do quality SEO through keywords, images and content creation.

 

Content management systems like Wix.com have effective SEO wizards built into their designing platforms. If you’re using WordPress you can use SEO plugins like Yoast to optimize your page, and after a while you won’t even need them to understand what works for your site.

 

Create social media pages

 

Everybody knows this, but it’s worth repeating: social media is free. Anybody can sign up to it, and it can cost nothing but 5 minutes to post something interesting and relevant to your business everyday. You may not rear an army of followers overnight, but with consistent posts and good quality content you’ll get there.

 

Keep on eye on social media trends and use hashtags & groups to enter a conversation. Hashtags also increase visibility and keeps your page fun and interesting. Use images over text, and post at timings your followers are online. Create a marketing strategy, stick to it and stay consistent to establish your brand digitally.
